TG-250 No. 075 Shop Special

I think last month's guitar (#109) was my first guitar-of-the-month to actually sell within a month of posting it here. Neither party could be happier. Thanks, James.

This month I'm featuring a guitar that also recently returned to the shop after having spent it's first year hanging silently on a guitar store wall. Again, I'm stupified. This guitar plays like butter. And it's interesting as all get-out to look at. The cap is dominated by an incredibly silky example of Australian Lacewood.

The center section, though it looks like a neck-thru-body, is actually the scrap from another neck.
The body is plain, old Basswood. It isn't much to look at, but it really packs a tonal wollup. That it's semi-hollow adds even more to the tone.
I may soon change this page to the "Buy My Personal Guitar" page because that's what's been happening lately. Because I try to keep my new guitars new, I pick one guitar as my 'grab and go' guitar. I've been playing this one exclusively for about a month now and I'm digging it. Although, if I get a chance,

I might change the neck pickup (Duncan SH-1 "59") to a 4-conductor version so I can tap it, too. The bridge pickup (SH-4 "JB") is already tapped and brings this guitar right into the twangy Tele range.
The neck is so comfortable that I'm going to try to copy it on future guitars. It's got the very last of my old Birdseye Maple bookcase that I mention throughout this website.
